The Journey Goes On

It's Been 5 Months Since I Came to Balik Pulau

Within 5 months, from an inexperience manager as well as a Balik Pulau tour guide, I have transformed into a tour guide that knows almost all the small and hidden paths in Balik Pulau, a manager with a little bit of managing skills and a mechanics that can repair almost all parts of the bicycle. Well, I certainly have developed some useful skills and my mind and soul have definitely leveled up. In this short 5 months, I have met with lots of people from different places with different stories. This give me some hints as how I should live my life to be a better and happier person.

First, let's talk about my tour guide job. It is an interesting job for me and I really love it. Only that sometimes when it comes to some troublesome customers, it will put me down a little bit. Yet, in overall, there were more nice and understanding customers compare to the irritating one. After being tour guide for 5 months, I have earned myself some small amount of tips from the customers. The tips were given by the granny from the first picture (most right) as shown above as I have became the personal driver for this granny during the tour. The three foreign friends from the second picture also gave my some tips as a little sponsor for my journey to come. Though it wasn't much, but it was a great reward for me as knowing that there are people out there who appreciates my effort. Thanks!

Next, let's talk about my life while staying in the guesthouse. Well, some irritated customers cant be avoided but it can be get over with some patience. What trouble me more is the lazy and irresponsible housekeeper. At first, I really cant stand the way this housekeeper do her job, I have to clean up the things that she left undone. Because of this, I wasn't happy for a period of time and I started complaining to my boss. However, after I calmed down a little, I started to think that was't that I have always encourage people to stopping the complaints and live a happy life? But when bad things happen on me, why am I starting to complain as well? Wasn't that contradict to my principle of life? Therefore, I try to change my attitude by stop complaining and accept every single bad thing of the housekeeper. Soon, I realised that I live a happier life than before and my bonding with the housekeeper has become better. This is one of the most valuable lessons that I have learn at here. Our attitude affects our happiness in life. When there are no bad people in our heart, everything else feels better.

Lastly, let's talk my future plan. When I first came to Balik Pulau, I actually planned to stay for 2 whole years in Balik Pulau. However, I soon realised that 2 years is too long to stay at one place and I kinda feel like my youth shouldn't be wasted on just one place. So, I am planning to stay at Balik Pulau at most until next year and gonna start exploring the other beautiful parts of Peninsular Malaysia. I didn't exactly plan where to go yet, just that I feel like whenever the bike can take me should be fine. Well, that is the fun part of exploration after all as we never know what kind of beautiful scenery awaits us. I plan to spend one year on the exploration of the Peninsular Malaysia and then will start to explore the foreign country. That is when my true journey will be started and I hope to get more support from you all! Thanks! :)
